Request Proposal vs. Request Bind: What's the Difference?

Overview
Request Proposal and Request Bind are underwriting workflows used when an agent cannot complete a quoting or binding action directly.
Request Proposal
Use Request Proposal when:
- The Generate Proposal button is unavailable.
- An underwriting exception has been triggered.
- The submission requires underwriting review.
- The proposal exceeds authority thresholds.
What Happens Next?
The proposal is routed to an underwriter for review and moves into Proposal Requested status.
Request Bind
Use Request Bind when:
- The proposal has already been reviewed.
- Binding authority is unavailable to the agent.
- The proposal did not qualify for straight-through processing.
What Happens Next?
The underwriter reviews the request and issues the policy if approved.
