How to Submit an Application for Underwriting Review

Overview

Some submissions require review by an underwriter before a proposal can be generated or bound. When this occurs, agents must submit a Request Proposal.

Submit for Underwriting Review

    • Complete and submit a proposal.
    • Review any underwriting exception messages.
    • Select UW Exception Management to determine the reason for review.
    • Click Request Proposal.
    • Refresh the dashboard to view the updated status.
    • Monitor the proposal in the Request Proposal queue until underwriting completes its review.

Common Reasons for Review

    • Estimated premium exceeds underwriting authority thresholds.
    • Certain class codes require review.
    • Temporary staffing exposures.
    • Employee leasing exposures.
    • Multi-state proposals including MA or CT.

The proposal status changes to Proposal Requested and is routed to an underwriter.

How do I know if underwriting has reviewed the application?

The proposal status updates within the Agency Dashboard.
