Understanding Effective Date Requirements
Effective 9/1/2026
Overview
Effective dates determine when coverage begins and are subject to validation rules within the Agency Quoting Center.
Standard Effective Date Rule
For contract agents, proposals may generally be submitted:
- Up to three business days in the past
- Up to 60 days in the future
What Happens if the Date Is Invalid?
The system displays a validation message and prevents the proposal from proceeding until the date is corrected.
Automatic Expiration Dates
When a proposal is created:
- The expiration date is automatically set to one year from the effective date.
Important Notes
- Non-contract agents may be subject to stricter backdating restrictions.
- Effective date requirements apply to both Quick Quotes and Full Applications.
- Always verify effective dates before submitting proposals.
